AGRICULTURE: INCREASING THE STANDARD OF LIVING

Agriculture in Nigeria is one of the dominant sector in the rural areas because it provides employment for about 60% of the work force. The diversity of climatic conditions, the richness of soil types, and the high population density provide great potential for crop in the country.
Here is a list of profitable agricultural export products in Nigeria.

 COCOA

Cocoa is a vital ingredient used in making chocolate. It originated from the cocoa bean that grows from cocoa tree. Other produce gotten from cocoa are: Cocoa butter, Alcohol and soft drinks.
Nigeria is known as the fourth largest exporting nation of cocoa in the world, and cocoa is one of Nigeria’s leading agricultural export products.

YAM

Yam, is an edible tuber, which has Nigeria as the highest producer.
When it comes to export of agricultural products for profit, Yam tuber exportation should top the list.
As we can see Nigeria is leading, hence more effort should be put in place to enhance the production of yam in the country so as to boost the economy.

     CASHEW NUTS

Cashew has great potential for exportation because it is an international commodity, and since it is adequately produced in Nigeria, it can be exported in large quantity to yield more income.
According to the National Cashew Association of Nigeria, NCAN, Nigeria earned ₦144.7 billion (about $402 million) from the export of raw cashew nuts to other countries. States that produce cashew nut kwara, Oyo and kogi.

       GINGER

Ginger is one of the best export products a country can invest in due to the fact that it is very useful. Ginger has health benefits such as Pain relief and so it is a well sought after plant all over the world, since we grow ginger in Nigeria this is a great sector to build.

So I am already thinking of going into the production of yam, I think you should too.
